The Palm Harbor Plastic Surgery Centre is pleased to announce to our patients that Silicone Gel implants are available.  The FDA has approved the Gel implants and all of our surgeons are certified and ready to use these devices.  We are now able to offer all options including saline and silicone implants.  If you have ever thought about breast augmentation now is a great time to see our surgeons for a consultation.  During the consultation process we will present you with the latest techniques for breast augmentation and you can see and feel the new Mentor Gel breast implants.

We have been using these Mentor Gel Implants for several years as part of a clinical study.  The patients that have received these implants were patients who required breast reconstruction or patients who required a breast lift (mastopexy), or patients who had problems with their saline implants.  Now we can offer to women the full spectrum of options including Gel implants.

Are You Eligible for Silicone Gel-Filled Breast Implants?

Mentor MemoryGel Silicone Gel-Filled Breast Implants are indicated
for females for the following uses (procedures):
• Breast augmentation for women at least 22 years old. Breast
augmentation includes primary breast augmentation to increase
the breast size, as well as revision surgery to correct or improve
the result of a primary breast augmentation surgery.
• Breast reconstruction. Breast reconstruction includes primary
reconstruction to replace breast tissue that has been removed
due to cancer or trauma or that has failed to develop properly
due to a severe breast abnormality. Breast reconstruction also
includes revision surgery to correct or improve the result of a
primary breast reconstruction surgery. (A separate patient
brochure is available for and should be read for breast
reconstruction.)

Contraindications

Breast implant surgery should not be performed in:
• Women with active infection anywhere in their body.
• Women with existing cancer or pre-cancer of their breast who
have not received adequate treatment for those conditions.
